VIA: Visually Impaired Advancement’s Manufacturing Recognized for Workforce Development

VIA: Visually Impaired Advancement’s manufacturing department is committed to providing meaningful employment opportunities for individuals who are blind or visually impaired. That’s why we’re thrilled to announce that our manufacturing department has been recognized with an award for workforce development by Buffalo Business First.

VIA’s team will be recognized on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, from 4:30 to 6:30pm at Salvatore’s Grand Ball Room.

How VIA Develops Top Talent

Our commitment to workforce development goes beyond just providing employment opportunities. We also offer a Work Experience Training Program that provides individuals who are blind or visually impaired with the skills and training they need to succeed in the workplace, like our manufacturing floor.

Our Work Experience Training Program is designed to help individuals develop the skills and confidence they need to succeed in the workforce. The program provides hands-on training in a variety of areas, including manufacturing, assembly, packaging, and more. Participants in the program work alongside our experienced team members, learning valuable skills and gaining real-world experience.

One of the key benefits of our Work Experience Training Program is that it’s tailored to each participant’s unique needs and abilities. We work with each individual to identify their strengths and interests and develop a training plan to help them achieve their goals.

In addition to providing training and work experience, our program offers a range of support services to help participants succeed. This includes access to assistive technology, transportation services, and job coaching.

At VIA, we believe everyone has something valuable to contribute, regardless of their abilities.

We’re thrilled to receive this award from Buffalo Business First, and we know that it wouldn’t be possible without the incredible team of individuals who work in our manufacturing department. Their dedication, hard work, and passion for what they do is truly inspiring.
