Univera Healthcare Provides Community Health
Univera Healthcare announced that it is awarding a total of eight community health awards to nonprofit organizations across Western New York. The community health award funding will support innovative programs and solutions to advance health equity and ultimately improve health outcomes for underserved segments of the communities the health plan serves.
Through a competitive application process, Univera Healthcare’s Community Health Awards will provide funding to launch, expand, and sustain programs and services that promote health. These investments will also advance health equity by extending the reach of preventive health services or health-promoting programs to vulnerable populations.
VIA: Visually Impaired Advancement low vision clinic is the cornerstone of the agency and functions as the agency’s gateway to vision rehabilitation services. Approximately 90% of the calls to the agency driven from the agency’s website are related to the low vision clinic’s services. The low vision specialist is one of only two providers in Western New York.
